CODE Welcome Party at Western Road
CODE Student Accommodation celebrated its 4th Birthday in style by throwing a massive Welcome Party under a giant Marquee at Western Road which was attended by more than 400 hungry students who all sang “Happy Birthday” with mouthfuls of delicious cake whilst staying late into the night enjoying the fantastic array of food and drink supplied by local student favourites Domino’s, the OBar, Soar Point & Bombay Bites all to the mix of our resident DJ. Huge attractions at the event were the ever popular DMU Steppers & Bollywood Dancers who both put on great shows and for the more energetic there was a spectacular Bouncy Castle and Sumo Wrestling suits which gave all the students the chance to get up close and personal !
Night Out at The Goosefair
CODE took a full bus to the Goose Fiar one of Europe's largest travelling fairs with a history dating back 700 years and over 500 attractions to thrill and delight the city residents and over 300,000 visitors - a real must see !!
CODE XMAS PARTY
CODE’s annual Christmas Party saw students flock to the Café for the Free Festive buffet taking the opportunity wish Seasons Greetings to new friends before the term ended.
As everybody merrily ate their Mince Pies and Turkey Rolls we were lucky enough to get a visit from Father Christmas who posed with the students for selfies in our Igloo before joyfully singing along to the jukebox of Christmas carols!
For students who are remaining at CODE for Christmas the Café is putting on a selection of free daily meals so everybody can celebrate together and for students making their way back home CODE staff got the opportunity to wish everyone a safe journey
Sip & Paint
When we were approached by DMU Graduates to hold a Sip and Paint Event at CODE we thought why not! It may have been a lot different to the parties we normally have but it gave an opportunity for CODE Residents to express their creative side with a glass and paintbrush in hand there was definitely an air of therapeutic satisfaction as their canvas’s began to take shape forming a colourful backdrop to life at CODE. As it is said pictures say a thousand words so these speak volumes. An event definitely to be repeated on the CODE calendar!
Valentine’s Day has become a global event celebrated by many different cultures throughout the world but remains dedicated to friendship. At CODE we were delighted to host 2 different social events at both our Coventry & Leicester sites which invited along a fantastically diverse mix of students.
Our Coventry office was transformed for Valentine’s day with decorations, Prosecco and themed cupcakes. Each of our 2018/19 tenants were entered into a prize draw to win gift vouchers from some of our student’s favourite retailers and restaurants! Winners were picked at random and were able to collect their prize from the CODE office and many other students made the most of the free treats on offer too!
Our Leicester site worked with the DMU International, Psychology and LGBT Societies with the Korean society and Demon Barbers Quartet helping with entertainment and the Cocktail Society kept the fun flowing with a wonderful array of cocktails! Our friends at Papa Johns ensured that our guests were not left hungry with Pizzas’ galore!
CODE firmly believe that fit students get better results and our hugely popular but brutal Bootcamps with qualified instructors take place regularly either by the River in the summer or in the Fitness studio in the winter - have you got what it takes to stay at CODE !
Flights in a Private Jet
Budding Astronaut and CODE resident pilot took a crew of lucky winners into the skies of Leicester for a bird's eye view of the De Montfort University and Leicester University Campus before landing them safely back down at a local airport - CODE's very own Top Gun experience
CODE's resident had all barely settled in when they all took the opportunity to dress up and scare each other before heading off into the night in Leicester - a real favourite way of getting to know your neighbours
CODE students always go that extra mile for a host of good cause and the 5895 metre climb up one of the world's highest mountains was no exception with the CODE flag placed firmly at the summit for all to see.
Girls Rugby Team
CODE facilities are frequently used for training sessions by the DMU Girls Rugby team as they are put through their paces at the start of a tough season in this fabulously popular society
International Christmas Dinner
CODE's international students all got together on Christmas Day to put on a festive Christmas dinner with a real Asian twist before relaxing in the Cinema to the latest blockbuster - a great time had by all!

Chinese New Year
CODE were delighted to host a vibrant & colourful Chinese New Year party for all the residents and their friends putting the Chinese New Year up on the big screen so we were all able to welcome in The Year of the Horse
CODE does Bollywood
When the students were asked what party they wanted to lift the winter blues and bounce into spring they choose Bollywood and a festival of dance, colours and flavours!
CODE didn't disappoint and the stage was set with a centrepiece performance of DMU's own Bollywood Dance Society with students and staff alike donning their saris and traditional costume to lend an authentic feel that was further enhanced by the delicious aromas of a range of freshly prepared traditional Indian dishes.
News travelled fast and it wasn't long before the party was packed with students of all nationalities immersing themselves into a fascinating cultural experience with prizes galore for the best costume and traditional dancing all captured by our expert photographer.
A great night that is sure to be repeated.
