We know that a healthy body equals a healthy mind, which is why we offer a range of free fitness facilities and classes to help increase your mental wellbeing.
Current students: please read about the impact of current Covid restrictions on our gym and fitness classes. We are hoping that for our 2021/22 residents, the vaccination programme will mean Covid restrictions will be lifted/lightened and we can return to life as normal.
The air-conditioned CODE gym is completely free to use and open daily from 6am – midnight. It’s kitted out with state-of-the-art Techno Gym equipment. For cardio, there's treadmills, bicycles and steppers all included. While for weight training we have a range of resistance machines or free weights (ranging all the way up to 14kg dumbells) and weight benches.
We’ll offer you a quick and easy gym induction at the start of term so you can learn how everything works. We'll give you more details on this when you move in.
Free weekly fitness classes
Our weekly classes are all led by professional fitness instructors and they provide a great opportunity to meet other residents at CODE. Sessions are suitable for all abilities and are designed to be fun, as well as increase fitness levels.
Our fitness classes vary but we've held Yoga, Circuits and BoxFit before, so there’s something for everyone.

This class is a friendly and non-judgmental space for you to stretch, give your body movement and your mind rest. We practice a vinyasa style yoga flow where we link breath and movement. It will bring the many benefits of yoga into your life; flexibility, balance, strength, focus, peace of mind and connection... on and off the mat.

These classes are full of energy, using the benefits of boxing and key movements in fitness to gain the most from every class you attend. Whether you’re experienced or a beginner, this class is adaptable for all - with the main objective of getting fit while having fun.
Our fitness classes are currently online due to Covid-19 guidelines. These include HIIT workouts and yoga lessons! Yoga is 6-7pm on Tuesdays and HIIT/Circuit 6-7pm on Thursday. Join on our Facebook page. Or re-watch our previous Yoga and Core/HIIT classes.
Our dance/fitness studio is fitted with full length mirrors and a large floor area for when you need a little more space. It the perfect place for your society to practice and residents can book this completely free of charge – even if you don’t want to use it for fitness or dance.
