Refundable Tenancy Deposits at CODE

Refundable Tenancy Deposits

What is a Refundable Tenancy Deposit

A refundable tenancy deposit is £400 that is paid as part of your contract to CODE. The payment date is 24th April 2026, but if you book after that, we will ask for the £400 as soon as possible.

We keep this until the end of your contract and it protects us (and you) if there is any damage or unpaid rent during your time in the property.

We are required by law to protect your deposit in a deposit protection scheme and we use a service called My Deposits.

Registering your deposit

Once you have paid your £400, we need to register and protect your refundable tenancy deposit. To do this we need you to complete a number of steps:

Frequently Asked Questions

Once you have left your room at the end of your contract we inspect it carefully. This includes your mattress, appliances, and fixtures.

We take photos of all the key areas and items and assess whether any damage has occurred. If it has, we will deduct the cost of the repair or replacement from your £400 tenancy deposit. We will also check if you have any unpaid bills and again deduct these from the £400.

We aim to return your deposit to you 15 working days after the tenancy end date. If there are any disputes we will discuss this with you and reach a conclusion.

You will then  be notified by My Deposits to accept the deposit release once your tenancy has ended.
