Arriving on site

Moving in

It’s the big day - you’re moving into your new home! We can't wait to welcome you, and our friendly staff are on-hand to help.

Here’s what to expect when you check-in at CODE.

What happens on the day

We'll give you a site map when you arrive - or you can find a ground floor and first floor map in the gallery above.

FINDING US

We recommend you use a sat nav or phone gps to find us. We are the tallest building in Coventry, so keep a look out for the tall white building if you're a little lost!

By car

Coventry is nestled in the centre of England and as such you can use a number of A-roads to get into the city once you have left the main motorway links including the M6, M42, M1 and M40.

The junctions on Coventry's ring road are tightly spaced together but we recommend using  junctions 2 or 3 as these exits are the closest to the CODE building.

By rail

High-speed train links connect Coventry to London and many other large towns and cities.

CODE is on the other side of the city,  a 15-20 minute walk away. To help you out, we've added a map and directions to the gallery at the top of this page.

Our address

Fairfax Street
Coventry CV1 5GA
Tel: 02476 105 106

Please note: Individual postcodes are needed for your flat, especially if you are using a postcode finder. The full addresses can be found on our parcels and letters page.

PRE-ARRIVAL TASKS

You cannot collect your keys if you haven’t completed your 'to-do list', which includes going onto your student portal to:

1) Pre-book your arrival slot -  you can choose these on your student portal.
Slots are filled on a first come, first served basis - and popular dates fill up quickly. If you are unsure of the day you will be arriving, you may prefer to wait to book your slot.

Top tip: You can book your slot by clicking on "To Do" list and then "Arrival Date" in your student portal. Scroll through the images in the gallery above to see what it should look like.

There is no deadline by which you need to have booked your slot but you do need to have completed the rest of the 'To Do' list.

We would always encourage you to book a slot. But if you need to arrive at a time when the slots are full that is okay but please note, we will not be able to offer you a car parking space on site.  It is also likely the office could be very busy - as all slots are already full - and you may have a short delay in getting your keys. We will try to minimise this if we can.
Please choose the "outside of the above times" from the slots if you cannot select the time you want.

If you need to change the slot once you have booked, please contact our Chat team (you cannot change this yourself)

Arriving outside of the above hours? We can let you into your room if you want to arrive outside of these times.
Please book an 'outside of the above times' slot in the student portal, however we cannot guarantee parking.

2) Complete your Induction forms + Health and Safety module (available soon) on your student portal

When you have done all of these you will see this is completed with a green tick.

3) Make sure you know which room number you are in
This is important to know where to go when you arrive on site. Your room number will explain your Block, Floor and Room number. For example:

  • A01-01: Block A. Floor 1, Room 1
  • B02-02: Block B, Floor 2, Room 2
  • C03-03: Block C, Floor 3, Room 3
  • D04-04: Block D, Floor 4, Room 4

Please ensure you have done these things, otherwise your key collection may be delayed.

ARRIVING ON SITE

If you are arriving by car and you need a parking space, you will need to have booked an arrival slot on your student profile or by contacting us on coventry@codestudents.co.uk.

Tenants/parents need to provide room number or name as well as their Car Registration, you will only be allocated a 1-hour time slot for you unloading, if you need more time than you can park in Cox St car park just behind the building.

Pull into the gate behind Starbucks - there is only one way in/out so only the allocated slots are able to park on site.

We have trollies available to help with unloading, just ask in the office when you collect your keys.

Please note: permanent car parking is not available at CODE Coventry. The spaces outside of our building are not owned by CODE and could be liable for parking tickets/fines.

IN THE OFFICE

When in our office, you will be seated with a member of our team to work through your move-in checklist. This should take about 15-20 minutes.

You can make this quicker by making sure you have completed everything on your student profile, including having a clear passport-style photograph of yourself and uploading a photo of your student ID to the My Documents section of your student portal.

You should also have the following items to hand:

Passport / Driving Licence*
Student ID or University Offer Letter (email copies are acceptable)
Passport VISA Stamp / Settled Status Email/ E-visa (international/EU students only)

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

If you are an international student you will need to show your:

  • passport/driving licence
  • right to study VISA or equivalent student settled status (email copies are acceptable)
  • Student ID or university acceptance letters (email copies are acceptable).
