How to wash your clothes

WHAT TEMPERATURE?

Always make sure you check the care label on your clothes. The little symbol will indicate whether your clothes can be washed at 30/40°C or a higher temperature. This will vary based on the fabric but the symbol will state the maximum heat you should use. Although this is the maximum, if you wash at 30°C  it's better for the environment!

SEPARATING ITEMS

Heard people refer to washing as 'whites'/'darks'/'colours'? This is because separating your laundry into similar colours is a fail-safe way to make sure you don't end up with pink socks! If you're unsure, always stick to similar colours. You can get colour catcher sheets that you can add to the drum if you're feeling a little braver!

TREAT STAINS FIRST

Treat all stains, but especially blood, tea and tomato sauce stains, as soon as you can. If an item of clothing is heavily stained it may need soaking before you wash it. Try soaking the item with a stain treatment or washing powder for around 30 minutes. If it is really heavily stained, why not try soaking overnight.
